These newer fillers act immediatelyThey vary in how long they last and the materials which make them up. The results can vary from person to person. 

Captique lasts approximately 4-5 months, Restylane 5-6 months, Juvaderm about 6 months, Radiesse about 10-12 months. Artefill is the only approved permanent filler. Most patients wil require 2-3 injections with Artefill. Of course, the person will continue to age and may require more Artefill with time. Artefill is the only filler which requires a skin test to be done in advance (1 month). It is possible that in the future, the requirement for the skin test may be dropped. 

 These injections work immediately to significantly reduce wrinkles and the signs of aging. There is no downtime and you may return to work immediately.
